A Towel, A Rag, and An Old Discarded Shirt
F C Dm C
A towel, a rag, an old discarded shirt.
F C Am G
Lay on the roadside, lay in the dirt (2)
Verses
An old man walking, picked up the towel
Recalls drying her dishes, the love in the house
He picks up the rag, used one for fixing things.
Fixed her old dryer, the washing machine
Picks up the old shirt, dirty and torn
Like the one on his birthday, now ragged and worn
Though these are all forgotten, along the roadside.
They bring back his memories, stored deep inside
Jesus fixes the torn, the wasted times
Restoring purpose, restoring our pride.
